Referral Procedures

All grade 2 and grade 5 students will be screened for highly capable services. No parent referral is necessary and your student will be screened unless you choose to opt-out of the process. Learn more at the Universal Screening page.

The 2023-24 highly capable referral window for grades K, 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 will open November 1, 2023 and will close December 31, 2023. Referrals submitted after December 31, 2023 may not be considered for evaluation until the 2024-2025 school year for services beginning in 2025-2026.

Students New to Tahoma School District

Students moving into the Tahoma School District after the referral window closes or over the summer are still able to submit a move-in referral form. Students must registered with the district before a referral form can be accepted. Please contact your new school's registrar to begin the registration process and submit the following form when that is complete: Move-In Referral Form
