⬜ Seniors! Apply now for the TSF Scholarship: Due April 30, 2023
The Tahoma Schools Foundation (TSF) is an non-profit organization that raises funds and provides resources for Tahoma students. TSF is seeking to issue FOUR $5,000 scholarships for graduating seniors to use for higher education, trades or other professional programs! Applications for the TSF Foundation Scholarship (click here) opened on Feb. 1, and will remain open through April 30, 2023.

⬜ Upcoming Tahoma Budget Webinar: Wednesday, April 5 (6-7 PM)

⬜ Transition to the Future Night: Ages Birth to 21
Do you have a child with an IEP or 504 plan and want to learn more about available community resources and college programs? There will be a Transition Planning for the Future event at Tahoma High School on April 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. hosted by the Tahoma Special Services Dept. and the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC). ⬜ Feed a Tahomie Fund Kickoff Event: April 6
Feed a Tahomie Fund is a Maple Valley Food Bank program aiming to provide nutrition security for students in our community. They are having a launch party on April 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a catered dinner by EJ’s Catering. Learn more about this kickoff event and get your ticket here!
⬜ Tahoma Schools Foundation’s Annual Recycle Event
Come to Tahoma High School on April 8th from 11 AM - 1 PM, and help Tahoma Schools Foundation make a difference for Earth Day while supporting our students! Bring any recyclables, electronics, appliances, fitness items, clothing textiles, and more. TSF is asking for a donation of $10 per vehicle and they will take these items off your hands! Our school buildings will be closed for Spring Break, April 10–14. The Central Services office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
⬜ Sexual Health Parent Information Nights
The Tahoma School District provides curriculum and instruction designed to help students make healthy choices and practice safe behaviors. We understand that this is an important endeavor and it requires a strong partnership with parents and families. To help strengthen this partnership, Tahoma’s Teaching and Learning Department annually hosts three parent information webinars to discuss the sexual health curricula in our schools. This is a valuable opportunity for families to get a full understanding of the sexual health curricula students learn at each level. All webinars will be recorded and posted to our district website after the event.

To register for one of the webinars, click on the meeting date above. Families still have the option to opt their child out of these lessons after reviewing the lessons. The link to the opt out form will be available on our sexual health information page after the information webinars.
⬜ Upcoming Student Job Fair at Tahoma High School
Tahoma High School will be hosting a job fair for students on Wednesday, April 19 from 2:15–3:15 p.m. at THS in the commons. There will be employers looking to hire students for part time, summer, and full-time employment. Employers who wish to attend should contact Lara Lindersmith at [email protected] or 425-413-3468.
⬜ Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a child turning 5 on or before August 31, 2023? If so, register your child for kindergarten as soon as possible! There will be a kindergarten event before the end of this school year, where your child will have the chance to visit their future school and take a few quick assessments. This will help determine eligibility for Kindergarten Camp in August, which is by invitation only, as well as assist with class placement in the fall. Register for kindergarten today!
⬜ Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Eligibility
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible households with a discount of up to $30 per month off their internet bills, as well as a $100 one-time discount for a device. Households approved for free/reduced-price meals within the last 12 months are eligible for ACP benefits. Learn more at getinternet.gov, and apply for free/reduced-price meals here at our website.

The City of Maple Valley has posted its Recreation Guide for spring/summer activities, with registration opening in April. Families interested in scholarship opportunities for these activities should visit the City’s Recreation Scholarship webpage. This webpage also has information for families wishing to donate to the scholarship program.
