⬜  Tahoma School Board Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 14

This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Central Services Building in the Board Room. An online option is also available, with a link being posted on Feb. 10 to the website. ⬜  Join us for the next Community Wellness Night! ADHD 2.0 Register Here!

Join us next Wednesday, February 15 from 6:30–7:45 p.m. in the Rock Creek Elementary Library for an evening with Catherine Mutti-Driscoll, Lead ADHD and Executive Function Coach from the Hallowell-Todaro ADHD Center. This event is hosted by Tahoma Wellness, City of Maple Valley, and the Tahoma Behavioral Health Collective. Participants will learn: 

  • Super strategies for helping your child live well with ADHD

  • Practical solutions for overcoming daily challenges and forming positive habits

  • How to maximize the benefits and minimize the challenges of living with ADHD

First 30 attendees at the door will receive a free book by Dr. Ed Hallowell, "ADHD 2.0"


⬜  Seniors! Apply now for the TSF Scholarship & PTA/Community Scholarships

The Tahoma Schools Foundation (TSF) is an non-profit organization that raises funds and provides resources for Tahoma students. TSF is seeking to issue FOUR $5,000 scholarships for graduating seniors to use for higher education, trades or other professional programs! Applications for the TSF Foundation Scholarship (click here) opened today, Feb. 1, and will remain open through April 30, 2023. 


Seniors can apply now for over 50 scholarships offered through the PTA/Community Scholarship program. There are scholarships for students planning to attend community, technical, and trade colleges, as well as 4-year colleges and universities. Students apply at https://www.goingmerry.com/. More details about applying can be found here and here. Deadline March 17. Students who would like help with their applications can drop in to the Future Ready Center at THS.


⬜  Tahoma 100 Cafe: RSVP Today!

Our Tahoma 100 journey is a chance for Tahoma families, staff and our community to collaborate on how we can best meet the needs of our students at the start of Tahoma’s second century. Our first Tahoma 100 community event is coming up on March 2 at Summit Trail Middle School and we want YOUR voice included in this important conversation. The Tahoma 100 Cafe will consist of small group conversations about the programs and experiences necessary for student success at all grade levels.

⬜  You can help Vine Maple Place

Moms and kids escaping homelessness need hygiene essentials but we can’t keep up with the need!  Please help and share the following with your friends, family and on social media:

Hygiene Essentials - Provide families escaping homelessness with the ability to shower and keep a clean and safe home. The full list is attached but the greatest needs are:

  • Laundry detergent (liquid 32 oz size or so)

  • Toilet paper

  • Deodorant

  • Tampons 

  • Shampoo & Conditioner 

  • Dish soap (liquid)

  • Paper towels

Four ways you can help meet the need:

  • Conduct a drive - Involve your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to contribute. Let us know in advance for planning purposes.

  • Regular donation - “Adopt” hygiene items (like deodorant or dish soap) and bring them monthly. Let us know in advance for planning purposes.

  • One-time donation - Purchase needed items and deliver them.

  • Order online - Click here to purchase items online and they will be delivered directly to Vine Maple Place.
