Incoming Kindergarteners

We can't wait to see your Kindergartener on the first day of school! This page is for incoming Kindergarten families whose students have already enrolled and will be joining our classrooms in the upcoming school year. If you still need to enroll your Kindergartener, please visit our Kindergarten Enrollment page.

Kindergarten Assessment

Each elementary building will be hosting an in-person event for their incoming Kindergarteners in the month of May.

You will receive detailed information from your child’s school with a link to sign up for a day and time for your visit. Students will have an opportunity to visit campus, meet staff, complete a few assessment tasks, and possibly, visit a classroom. Family Connections

Family Connection meetings are a component of WaKIDS. The purpose of these meetings is to build relationships and ease anxiety for parents and students. As a part of the state-funded, full-day kindergarten program, families will be contacted in August to meet individually with their child’s teacher. These meetings offer families an opportunity to get to know the teacher, share information about their child and ask questions. It provides teachers the opportunity to understand the student as a whole person, learn about the students’ interests and culture and learn about the family, supporting a smooth start to school.
