Tahoma School District has been honored with the State Auditor’s Stewardship Award (SASA) from the Washington State Auditor’s Office. This prestigious recognition is given to local governments and districts that demonstrate exceptional dedication to financial excellence and the responsible stewardship of public funds. Since its inception in 2015, the SASA has only been awarded to 15 of the 295 school districts in Washington state.

The State Auditor’s Office noted Tahoma’s proactive and collaborative approach to the auditing process, specifically highlighting our commitment to providing well-organized, timely, and thorough documentation.

More importantly, this award recognizes the culture of accountability we strive for every day. By maintaining rigorous internal controls and transparency, we ensure that every dollar entrusted to us by our community is used effectively to support our students’ success. In a time of statewide financial shifts, this recognition serves as a testament to our district's unwavering commitment to integrity and fiscal responsibility.
