Skyward Family Access Unavailable Starting April 2 for Required Update
Update as of Friday April 11: The update has been going very well, with some systems being restored quicker than we had anticipated. Our Skyward administrator (Northwest Regional Data Center)– who is helping every Skyward district make this update– shared with us that our data management is the best they’ve seen! The credit goes to our teams in finance, human resources, teaching & learning, student services, technology, food services, and our bookkeepers, registrars, instructional coaches, ed tech leaders, building leaders, and several others across the district. Thanks to them, we will be able to transition into “New Skyward” efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Family Access: We are making strong progress toward bringing Family Access back online soon. Family Access will not be restored by Monday, but we are optimistic that we will be able to provide access by the end of the week (April 18). We will keep you updated throughout the week, and we will notify you once Family Access is available, along with instructions for accessing “New Skyward”.
Tracking student attendance: Our schools will be taking attendance by hand on Monday, and we plan to be taking attendance in New Skyward by Tuesday, April 15. This will allow you to get regular absence alerts if your student is not in attendance.
Thank you for your patience with us as we work to get Skyward fully operational in the coming weeks. We would very much appreciate your grace and understanding with our teachers and office staff. There may be delays in inputting attendance, grades, and other changes to your student and family information while we get up to speed in our updated system.
Next month, our district’s Skyward database will be upgraded. Our Skyward vendor is making a required update to the system which will improve functionality across student information, payroll, finance and human resources.
The primary impact to families and students is that Skyward Family Access will be unavailable starting April 2. We encourage you to print any report cards, test scores or other information that you may want to have a copy of while our system upgrade takes place. We do not have a confirmed date that Family Access will be back online. It could be as early as April 15, but the outage could continue for an extended period of time.
As with any large-scale technology upgrade, we anticipate some challenges. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through these initial adjustments and transition to the upgraded Skyward experience.
