Retirement Announcements for Fritz Gere and Judy Beliveau

This week, the Tahoma School District celebrates the remarkable careers of two of our dedicated school leaders. We’re reaching out to share that both Fritz Gere, Principal of Cedar River Elementary, and Judy Beliveau, Principal of Tahoma High School, have announced their retirements at the end of this school year.

Between them, Fritz and Judy represent decades of unwavering commitment to our students. While we’re sad to see them go, we are incredibly grateful for the legacies they leave behind.

Fritz’s story with Tahoma began in 1993, when he first stepped into a classroom at Rock Creek Elementary. After a brief chapter as a Dean at Glacier Park Elementary, he spent a few years with the White River School District, before returning to Tahoma in 2009 as the Principal at Rock Creek Elementary. Since 2017, he has been Principal at Cedar River Elementary.

Judy’s journey in education began in 1988 in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, where she taught health and yearbook. She later stepped into school-wide administration when she spent 5 years in the Sumner School District as junior high school assistant principal. After taking some time off to raise their two daughters, Judy found herself back in education and spent 14 years in the Kent School District in administrative roles at both the middle and elementary level. Since joining Tahoma in 2018, she has served first as Associate Principal at THS and for the past four years as Principal of Tahoma High School.

As we prepare for the 2026-27 school year, the district administrative team will establish a comprehensive hiring process to select the next principals for both Cedar River Elementary and Tahoma High School. We’re committed to finding leaders who will build upon the strong foundations Fritz and Judy have established.

Please join us in thanking both Fritz and Judy for their many years of dedication to our schools and their leadership in Tahoma. We wish them tremendous happiness as they enter these exciting new chapters in their lives.

With gratitude,

Ginger Callison

Superintendent, Tahoma School District
