Tahoma School District seeks pro/con committee members for February 10, 2026 renewal levies
The Tahoma School District will have two renewal levy measures on the February 10, 2026 ballot:
- Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy – four-year renewal
- Technology Capital Projects (Tech) Levy – four-year renewal
As part of the election process, King County requires the district to appoint committee members to prepare pro and con statements for each measure. We are preparing for the Special Election while following regulations, ensuring transparency and adhering to the strict schedule required to meet election timeline mandates. As a district, we are required to provide the names of the committee members by December 12, which means the committee members need to be approved by the School Board during its November 25 meeting.
The King County Voters’ Pamphlet will contain supporting (“pro”) and opposing (“con”) statements and rebuttals for each measure. We will appoint members to both committees for each levy. Committee members are responsible for writing the statements that will appear in the voters’ pamphlet. There is a limit of three members per committee, but committees may seek input from others to develop a statement.
- The Pro Committee writes a statement of up to 200 words (no more than four paragraphs) and a 75-word rebuttal (no more than two paragraphs) to the Con Committee’s statement.
- The Con Committee writes a statement of up to 200 words (no more than four paragraphs) and a 75-word rebuttal (no more than two paragraphs) to the Pro Committee’s statement.
- All committee members must be residents of the Tahoma School District, and each committee must designate a spokesperson to communicate directly with King County Elections. Additional details are available in the King County Elections packet.
The deadlines for statements and rebuttals are as follows:
- Pro/Con Statements Due to King County: December 16, 2025
- Rebuttal Statements Due to King County: December 18, 2025
