Important Staff & Family Input Needed for K-12 Structure Options and Future Bond Priorities
After two years, the Tahoma Capital Facilities Committee needs community input about what the next 25 years will look like for Tahoma schools.
We're looking for feedback about two specific priorities:
How to manage the Tahoma High School crowding
- Remain As Is: Projected enrollment at THS is expected to drop below where we are currently in the next 7 years.
- Adjust the grade bands: K-6 (elementary), 7-9 (middle/junior high), 10-12 (high school)
Future bond priorities
- Create flexibility to accommodate unpredictable future high school enrollment needs by building a new Maple View Middle next to Summit Trail Middle
- Focus future bonds solely on repairs & upgrades to existing facilities
