The Tahoma School District has been awarded a grant through the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to participate in a study of the effectiveness of the Botvin LifeSkills curriculum.  The Botvin LifeSkills curriculum is an evidence-based, comprehensive program that works to prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. It works by targeting social and psychological factors related to substance use and other risky behaviors. This program provides middle school aged adolescents with the skills necessary to successfully handle challenging situations. This curriculum resource is being used to support instruction in our health and fitness courses.
