Second Grade Testing

Second Grade Testing Information

Second grade students throughout the district will bring home a parent letter in November that describes the testing, qualifying, and entrance process for the Tahoma School District Highly Capable Program options for grades 3-5. In December all second graders are provided the opportunity to take the Cogat 7 screener assessment. Following this assessment, students who qualify will have the opportunity to take the next battery of tests in February during the school day. The assessments used are the Cogat and Iowa Test of Basic Skills. All second grade families will receive written notification from the district sharing whether or not their child will continue with assessment process in early February.
