2024-25 School Start/End Times

2024-25 School Start/End Times
Posted on 05/29/2024

Beginning last school year (2022-23), Tahoma School District piloted a 2-year professional development schedule that led to adjusted start and end times Monday–Thursday for all schools, and a two-hour early dismissal each Friday for all schools. That 2-year pilot is ending at the end of our current school year. In evaluating how to best support our educators and make the best use of our professional development time, all Tahoma schools will be reverting to their previous daily school schedules in 2024-25, including a 90-minute early dismissal on most Fridays.

Here are the times for next school year:

Monday–Thursday Friday (90-min Early Release)
Tahoma High School 7:40 a.m. – 2:10 p.m. 7:40 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.
Middle Schools 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Early Start Elementary 8:40 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. 8:40 a.m. – 1:40 p.m.
Late Start Elementary 9:10 a.m. – 3:40 p.m. 9:10 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.

Schools are still in the process of finalizing their master schedules for next school year, but we wanted to make families aware of this change to begin planning for next school year. Please be on the lookout for more specific information about your child’s school schedule in your school’s back-to-school communications this summer.

The schools that are "Early Start Elementary" and "Late Start Elementary" will remain grouped the same as the 2023-24 school year:

Early Start Elementary Schools:

  • Glacier Park Elementary
  • Lake Wilderness Elementary
  • Shadow Lake Elementary

Late Start Elementary Schools:
