The Tahoma Print Shop is prepared to handle your educational program printing needs for the 20011-12 school year. We want to take this opportunity to refresh your memory about the services we offer and to let you know about changes for the new school year.
How to order: Please place your orders by using the Print Shop order forms that are available in the main office at each school or send us orders via e-mail that describe how you want the order to be handled. Sending electronic documents for copying and printing is preferred but we will accept paper originals. All standard school district forms, including student registration, can be ordered directly from the Print Shop.
Deadlines: The Print Shop copies, sorts and assembles about 800,000 pages a month. It’s a busy place! That’s why we request that you get orders to us well ahead of your deadline so that we have time to process the order. We also ask that you only order what you will need during the coming four to six weeks (unless it is a small quantity). We do not have the capacity to process an entire year’s worth of instructional material prior to the beginning of the new school year. If you have questions, please send us an e-mail or call (ext. 3447).
What’s new: As a result of price increases for paper, we must limit color paper choices. Please contact us if you need to print on paper other than standard white or pastels. In another cost-saving move, we are limiting binding options for books and booklets. We will use two-staple binding for most products, unless there is a specific instructional need for coil or tape binding. Our goal is to provide you with products that serve students’ education needs. If you have a concern about our products, please contact us!
Pricing: Most Print Shop services are free to Tahoma staff. Schools and departments are encouraged to send all printing jobs to the Print Shop. It is much more economical to print and copy in the Print Shop than it is on the copy machines in schools and departments. Under normal circumstances, the Print Shop can produce orders within three days – usually faster. During times of high demand, such as at the beginning of the school year, orders could take longer to process and will be prioritized according to student-learning needs.
Free printing and copying is offered for all jobs done on white paper and on the color paper that is in stock, including gold, canary, salmon, gray, cherry, lavender, green, ivory and blue. We no longer offer specialty “bright” color paper, due to its higher cost. As a cost-saving and environmentally friendly measure, orders will be printed on both sides of a page unless there is a specific request not to do so. If your job requires coil binding there will be an additional charge of 30 cents per booklet. Tape binding is still available at no charge but we are limiting its use to contain costs.
Color copying is available at 20 cents per page for 8.5X11 paper; 30 cents for 8.5X14; 40 cents for 11X17. Color posters are available for a fee. Lamination costs 35 cents for 8.5X11 and 70 cents for 11X17. Posters cost $3 for 18X24 and $6 for 24X36 (double those costs for lamination).
Who we are: The Print Shop is staffed by Sheila Carriveau and Stacey Weedman. Sheila and Stacey will answer questions about your order. If you have a question about policies, please contact Kevin Patterson, PIO and Print Shop supervisor (ext. 3409).
