Incoming 6th graders need immunization update

State law requires that students who are at least age 11 and entering the sixth grade in September must have current immunization status for diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (Tdap) along with varicella (chickenpox). Students without current immunizations or a legal exemption will not be permitted to attend school. Parents are encouraged to make appointments soon with their physician to have their child immunized. For details about immunization requirements, please click here.

To speed the registration process, parents are asked to provide proof of immunization for their child by either contacting the school nurse or providing a copy of the proof of immunization form to the school district this summer. Proof of immunization forms can be dropped off at the Tahoma Central Services Center, 25720 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road SE (across from Rock Creek Elementary). A drop box will be in place inside the main lobby of the building through Aug. 5, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beginning Aug. 8, forms can be dropped at Tahoma Middle School and Cedar River Middle School offices.
