The weather is getting warmer and student clothing styles reflect that.  Please help us by ensuring your student is appropriately dressed for school.  Our goal is to finish the year strong with a solid academic focus at TJH.

No bare midriff or showing of underwear (e.g. bra straps, boxer shorts, etc)

Shorts and skirts MUST be fingertip length.

No upper attire with plunging necklines that show cleavage.

Hats are not to be worn or visible during the school day.

This is a difficult time of year for students to maintain focus.  Please remind your student that grades/tests count the same this time of year as earlier.  Thank you for your support.

Rewards and Recognition Program

Hello Bears,

I wanted to send a reminder to all our TJHS students and their parents that the second semester recognition and rewards celebration will be June 14th. All forms for the program are due by June 1st.

In order to qualify and be invited to the celebration, students must meet the criteria in three of the five categories: academics, athletics, activities, recognition, and community service. Students that qualify for the celebration not only receive a certificate of appreciation/recognition at an ice cream social but they also have the opportunity to win some cool door prizes. Program information and forms are attached. Click here

At our fall celebration, over 60 students were recognized and honored. Attached is a pic of some of our students celebrating and showing some of the cool door prizes that they won.

Have a great day,

C Feist

Counseling Tip - The National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University continues to find evidence that young people who eat meals with their parents are less likely to smoke, drink or use drugs. Even one meal a day can reduce your child's risk.

Other things you can do: talk with your teen, find out who their friends are, where they are spending their time after school and on the weekends. Teens who know their family cares about them have better self esteem and are more likely to make positive decisions for their lives.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
