Principal: Chris Everett

Welcome to Shadow Lake!!
As your Shadow Lake principal I look forward to another great year of learning and working together with our school community- students, staff, and families.
As a school community we strive to provide a quality learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment for each child. Our mission statement is “All children will be successful.” At the core of our teaching and learning is the Classroom 10 model focusing on process based instruction driven by the TSD outcomes and indicators, thinking skills and Habits of Mind. In addition to our curriculum boys and girls can participate in a myriad of zero hours classes such as choir, band, art, technology, and outdoor club.
We are truly a community of learners. Our parent volunteers contribute hours and hours of time and energy that enhances our learning climate. We have a partnership with Tahoma High School where students provide assistance to teachers by tutoring and mentoring our elementary boys and girls.
This is my 30th year working as an educator in the Tahoma School District. I began my career at Shadow Lake teaching 3rd grade. Later I moved to Rock Creek when this school opened where I taught both fourth and fifth grades. Over the years I have helped to author intermediate integrated units that are used throughout our district. Currently I am supporting K-5 teachers in the area of writing.
I am a proud University of Washington Husky who graduated with an English degree in 1977. My advanced degrees are in curriculum and instruction and educational administration. My husband and I have two grown daughters- Laura 27 and Kristen 24.
Welcome again to our Shadow Lake community. We will look forward to meeting and seeing you throughout the year.
Warmly,
Christina Everett
